Testimonials:

OWEN’S BIRTH

“I look back at my birth of my son Owen and wish I could do it all over again. It was the most empowering and exciting experience I have ever had.

The contractions started coming on stronger now and every time I felt one I would concentrate on relaxing every muscle in my body. I tried to embrace the contraction and go with it. The words “loose” and “limp” playing in my head,

I was most comfortable sitting up in bed – similar to the position I was in when I practiced the rainbow relaxation exercise in Ronnie’s living room. I knew gravity would help me open up so I encouraged myself to get out of bed and walk around even though I really didn’t want to. With each surge, I felt I was getting closer to where I wanted to be. The larger the surge, the more productive it felt and more encouraging.

I found myself focusing on that calm, taking advantage of every second. Even amazing myself, I started to doze off to sleep for a few seconds – I was so relaxed. My husband said I looked so serene, my jaw never clenching, my hands completely relaxed.

I had confidence that my body knew what to do and all I had to do was keep my head out of getting in the way. With this confidence something instinctual was able to come out and I could surrender to the surges and not fight them.

When it was finally time that I could go with the urge to push, it was such a relief to let my body do what it wanted to do. It felt good to not hold back. I had definitely entered another stage of the birth. I was an active participant now, not just a bystander trying to not get in the way. I thought to my baby = “alright here we go!”

I had never been so in tune and one with my body before. I won’t pretend this last stage was easy, but because I knew the process was so close to being over I just thought – “come on – bring it on – let’s finish this!!!”

Finally with one last big push I felt his head pop out. Then another small push and his wiggly warm body slid out. Any pressure I was feeling was suddenly completely gone. As I opened my eyes, I saw this gangly slimy (as my husband described him – ‘drowned raccoon’) being put on my chest.

Looking for the first time into the eyes of this little person who had made this incredible journey with me was beautiful. I told him that he had done a very good job and that this was just the beginning. We have such a journey ahead of us. I hope we are as present in our lives together as we were at the moment of his birth.”

NIKIELLA

....”The nurse told me that I may have to wait as the doctor was birthing another baby at the time. I told that this baby was not waiting for no one!!! After about 5 – 6 surges, Nikiella was born at 1:32.p.m. I had one small tear which amazed the doctor. (I credit the perineal massage and the kegel exercises for this!)

The hospital respected our wishes not to administer the antibiotic ointment into her eyes and they also waited at least one minutes to clamp the cord which Mike cut.

Overall, it was a phenomenal experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

Thank you, Ronnie

When I gave birth to my daughter, she was in a posterior position. Apparently, this is one of the most difficult ways to give birth and I did it at home, without drugs. I am so proud of my daughter’s birth and how we all handled it. Without having HYPNOBIRTIHNG as part of my experience, I know that I would more than likely have ended up in the hospital, feeling like I drowning in pain and begging for an epidural. As it was, all I felt was uncomfortable at times and a bit tired. I cannot put into words the difference that HYPNOBIRTHING made in my life.

My husband told me afterwards that I had been in different positions for an hour or two at a time. I didn’t believe him until I watched the video tape of the birthing; time was of no essence to me during the birthing. An hour felt like five minutes because I was so deeply into my birthing experience. I still use it today when I’m stressed or have headaches or chronic back pain.

I would recommend HYPNOBIRTHING to anyone and everyone. Why should we have to suffer and “bear” birthing? I have learned that there really is birth without pain and I understand how my grandmothers have done it all of these thousands of years.

I thank everyone who was at my birthing experience – both seen and felt. Every one of you made a difference and an impact in my life.

“Every time I had a surge, I did exactly what Ronnie had told me to do: I relaxed my jaw, opened my hands and concentrated on my sleep breathing. I definitely could been each surge getting stronger and I could feel intense pressure, however, it was not painful. Heath decided to call the midwives as he noticed that the surges were coming two minutes apart. When they arrived they were unable to tell when I was having a surge as I was so relaxed. They asked me to raise my hand each time I had a surge so that they could time them and noticed that they were coming a minute apart and lasting for over a minute. They were amazed that I was so calm and relaxed.

I was so excited and giddy once my daughter was born – I couldn’t believe how great the birth was. It only lasted four hours and the only discomfort I had was while I was pushing – she weighed 9 lbs. 3 oz.

I am still excited about how well everything went and I definitely recommend HYPNOBIRTHING to everyone who wants to have a pain-free and positive birthing experience.”

“One of the nicest things about my birthing experience as that I could actually feel my son coming down the birth canal. I never felt that with my other children. I was able to speak calmly to the midwives up until the last surge. My husband was so calm and seemed far more in control than when we had our other children. The hypnosis definitely helped him as well. It was an absolutely exhilarating experience.

Tahir has been such a peaceful and contented baby. This has been such a wonderful experience for the whole family. My eldest daughter misses the HYPNOBIRTHING tapes that I used to listen to and still use them occasionally to fall asleep.

Thanks to Ronnie for showing me the time of my life. Not only have I given birth to a new child but also a new belief. Thanks to HYPNOBIRTHING I have added a new dimension to my life.”
