What to expect at your baby's first close up!
What it screens for: Ultrasounds have become a regular
— and very welcome — part of prenatal care. Early in
pregnancy, ultrasounds are used to confirm the fetal
heartbeat and a uterine (as opposed to ectopic or tubular)
pregnancy. Later, ultrasounds screen for fetal growth,
placenta location, and umbilical cord, as well as the
baby's general health and anatomy. Ultrasounds can also
be useful for checking the length of your cervix, if
there is any suspicion that you may be in preterm labor.
Believing is Seeing:
Birthing is quite natural. Women who trust their
body's ability to give birth have an intuitive sense
of guidance and trust their inner wisdom and allow
nature to do its thing. With confidence and harmony,
relaxation and belief, imagery and mindfulness the
power of birthing will change you forever. Responding
to what you feel in your birthing experience is nature's
way of guiding you through.
